Makar Sankranti is the harvest festival celebrated by many across India. Different states celebrate this festival under different names. In Andhra, Sankranti takes palce for four consecutive days. Starting with Bhogi Festival, Surya Pongal, Mattu Pongal, and fourth day is celebrated as Kaanum Pongal. Every day of festival has its own significance.
