- 10 bite size Leftover Chicken Fry Pieces
- 4 Readymade Puff Pastry Sheets
- 2 tbsp. Pizza Sauce:
- 1 tbsp. Mayo
- ½ tbsp. Pizza Seasoning
- ½ tbsp. Red Chili Flakes
- 4-5 tbsp. diced Cheese or 1-2 Cheese Cubes
- 1 Egg for Egg wash
Making Chicken Fry
I am using leftover chicken fry in making these tarts. But if you are not having leftover chicken at home, then marinade few boneless chicken pieces with red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and garam masala. Shallow fry on medium flame until water is absorbed. Now add 1-2 tbsp. oil and fry the chicken pieces until cooked. Turn off the flame and leave this to come down to room temperature. Shred the chicken pieces and set aside.
If you are using leftover chicken pieces, then shred the chicken pieces and set aside.
How To Make Chicken Puff Pizza Tarts
- Gather all the ingredients required to make this tart and pre-heat the oven.
- Line the baking tray with parchment. Transfer puff pastry sheets on the parchment paper.
- Using a sharp knife score a ¾" border around the pastry. Do not cut all the way through; just cut the top of the pastry.
- Use a fork to pierce holes all over the center of the pastry (the area inside the border). I missed this step and the tart puffed up. So, do not miss this step.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce and mayo on inside of the tart. Top it with shredded chicken and cheese.
- Sprinkle pizza seasoning or oregano and red chili flakes.
- Whisk an egg in a small bowl or mug, then using a pastry brush, brush it on the edges of the pastry sheet.
- Bake in pre-heated oven for 15 to 17 minutes or till the edges of each tartlet turn nice golden-brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Transfer the tartlets to cooling racks and cool for 5 minutes.
