About The Recipe
Pista mango lassi flavoured with cardamom is yogurt (curd) based Indian style smoothie. Lassi made with mango and pistachio is thick and creamy. Yogurt and mango make an extremely delicious pair.
Cardamom and pistachio add flavour and taste to this lassi. You can find many variations of mango lassi in juice shops.
When mangoes are in season, I make this lassi almost every day. If you find good sweet mangoes, then the taste of this lassi is next level.
Ingredients To Make Pista Mango Lassi
Mango: You can use fresh mango pieces or pulp or juice. I love the flavour and taste of Imam Pasand mangoes. So, I use them a lot in sweet recipe. If Imam Pasand (Himayat) mangoes are not available you can use Banganpalli, Alphonso, Dashehari, etc. Use ripe mango to bring natural sweetness in lassi. You can even use store bought mango pulp or concentrate to make lassi.
Mango Pieces: Peel the mango and wash it with drinking water. Pat dry and cut into cubes by making crisscross pattern on mango. Grind along with curd and other ingredients to make lassi
Mango Pulp: Grind the mango pieces until smooth and use it.
Mango Juice: Pulse mango pieces by adding little water. Pulp will be thick and juice will be thin. If using mango juice, then adjust water accordingly. I usually do not add water to lassi if I am using mango juice.
Curd: I used homemade curd. Thick and creamy curd is used to make lassi. Curd is whisked until frothy and then mango pulp is added to it.
Cardamom Powder: Cardamom powder in lassi brings aroma and taste. I usually crush the cardamom pods and add them to lassi while whisking. You can use cardamom powder as a garnish too.
Pistachio: Mango and pistachio complement each other perfectly. I used unsalted pistachio. Pista brings nutty flavour in the drink. I love to add finely chopped pista on top of lassi as a garnish. Instead of pista you can use almonds too.
Sugar: Adding sugar is completely optional. You can use honey instead of sugar.

As mangoes are full in season, I thought of giving a pistachio twist to my mango lassi and moreover making my lil’M eat dry fruits is a herculean task. So, grinding and adding to a drink or cake is an easy way to supply the required nutrients to my little darling. Chilled Pista Mango Lassi is creamy, nutty and mangolicious summer drink. You can make plain one by skipping mango…or else you can try with muskmelon….
muslimah says
Thanks, is muskmelon related to honeydew and cantaloupe? If so then I won’t be able to eat it, it sucks having allergies to foods
