A Page from Lil’M Diary,
Yesterday, Lil’M’s teacher sent a note to bring a potted plant for an activity. I saw the note late, and the nearby nursery was closed. The next morning, I asked Lil’M to carry a pot from our garden. However, she refused and said, “These plants are part of our family and my pets. I’m not going to take any of them.” I was deeply touched by her words.
As the car was being serviced, I took her by auto. Lil’M got scared when she saw her classmates carrying pots, and she started crying. The auto driver noticed her crying and asked me what was wrong. In her limited Tamil, Lil’M told the auto driver that she needed a potted flowering plant for a school garden workshop. The auto driver took us to another nearby nursery, but it was closed in the early morning. He found the contact number on the shop board and made a call to the owner.
Blessed Morning,
To lil’M’s luck, the nursery owner lives right next to the nursery. He arrived within 5 minutes. We quickly picked up the plants and the owner generously gave lil’M a free rose plant and a good discount. A happy lil’M donated all the plants to her school. The auto driver not only took us to the nursery and then to school, but also helped us carry the pots to her class. He charged a reasonable price for all the effort he put in to bring a smile to lil’M’s face. With a prayer for the auto driver’s family, I paid him and got out of the auto. “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.” ~ Plato
