Blushing Beauties Strawberries
Being botany student, I had read a lot about strawberries but never seen them. I first saw them in a movie, where Julia Roberts gulp them passionately. Lost in the scene I wished to taste these juicy blushing beauties right at the moment. But being in a place where strawberries are just read in books and seen in pictures, I never got a chance to devour these. This dream came through when I came to Bangalore.
One day while shopping in big bazar, I saw neatly arranged, freshly plucked and packed boxes of strawberries. I picked two boxes and after returning home, I hulled few very fast and relished just like that. The first one I ate was sour in taste, the next was little sour and little sweet (khatta meetha). Then I had another which was sweet enough. I fell in love with these berries which are naturally sweet and sour. From that day my fondness for strawberries started and over the period of time, I had relished strawberries in many different ways. When these blushing beauties are in season I make it a point to try out as many recipes as possible, apart from eating them raw. Here are some of my favorite and yummy Strawberry Recipes to try,

First time on your blog, came from Sayantanis and added to my reader. i must have spent the past 1 hour reading so many posts and especially drooled over your little babys picture. And look at the co-incidence, we just got back from a small vacation to Mahabaleshwar , the fridge smells of strawberries and last night we had strawberry shake for dessert !

Oh…what a lovely story you had with strawberries. I can't imagine living in a place without any. I think I was introduced to them when I was very young, to a point that I don't remember when. But it was quite expensive so we don't get them often. Now, I eat them all year round and my kids love them so much. Your Strawberry milkshake is beautiful. I love that gorgeous pink. 😉 Hope you had a nice holiday celebration.
