Winter always calls for hot and spicy foods. Foods that not only pampers your senses but also makes you feel warm. Khorma is usually referred to as mild, pale, silky, creamy and spicy curry dish. Aloo or potato khorma is yet another hot and spicy delicacy which satisfies the hunger raised by winter evenings. The garam masala blends with the coconut powder and coriander and mint leaves add an extra flavour to the recipe. This is very simple and easy to make recipe. With all the ingredients in hand you can make this recipe in less than 15 minutes. Come share this hot and spicy winter delicacy with me,,,,
Aloo Khorma
INGREDIENTS:
-
1/2 Kg Potatoes, peeled, cubed and par boiled
-
1 Onion, finely chopped
-
2 Green chillies, deseeded and slit length wise
-
1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
-
2 Cardamom(s)
-
1 Cinnamon stick
-
3 Cloves
-
1 tsp Red chilli powder
-
1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
-
3 tbsp dry Coconut powder
-
2-3 fresh Coriander leaves
-
5-6 Mint leaves
-
Salt to taste
-
Oil for cooking

When potatoes get boiled drain off the excess water and set aside.

In a Kadai or cooking vessel heat oil and add onions, green chillies, cardamom, clove, cinnamon and mint leaves. Saute till onion slices turn light brown.

The add ginger-garlic paste and using a spoon mix well.

Now add boiled potato pieces, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well.

In a small bowl make a fine paste of water and dry coconut powder and add this paste to the above mixture. Mix lightly.

Add coriander leaves and cover with a lid. Cook on a low flame till the aromas of spices blend with coconut and flavour potato pieces.

Cook till desired consistency. Serve hot with fried rice or vegetable biryani or roti(s).

Last but not least add your ‘love’ to make the dish ‘YUMMY’.
