About This Recipe
Back then in 2012, I was not aware of many recipes with whipping cream. The only thing, I knew at that time was using whipping cream as topping for cakes, pies and other desserts.
As I was trying my hands on whipping cream for the first time, I was bit nervous and enthusiastic at the same time. When I googled for the recipes with whipping cream, I came across many mousse recipes. Strawberry mousse was the first one to pop in my search list. To my luck, strawberries were off season at that time. Then chocolate mousse was my second choice, unfortunately there was no chocolate at home.
While searching for recipes, I sent a SMS to my dear friend Lubna Seemaz asking her, if she knew any recipe with whipping cream. Within no time she sent me a list of delicious dessert recipes with whipping cream. Few of them are biscuit pudding, mango swiss roll, mango kulfi, mango mousse, etc.
As I was seeing the recipes of mousse, I thought of trying mango mousse recipe. When I asked for the recipe, she has called me out of her busy schedule and gave me the recipe which she had scribbled in one of her cooking dairies. How sweet of her, isn’t it?
Eggless Mango Mousse Recipe
This 3-ingredient mango mousse recipe is extremely gratifying dessert, I ever made in my life. Simple ingredients and easy preparation steps make this recipe special. This is my first ever encounter with whipping cream and I am in love with it. It is like magic to see the cream forming into soft and then into thick peaks upon whipping. To sum up everything finally Mango Mousse is an creamy, delectable, magical, luscious and indulging dessert I ever made with mangoes as the main ingredient.
Tips To Make Perfect Mango Mousse
- I prefer using fresh and homemade mango puree in making this mousse.
- Whenever I am making a mango dessert, I either use Himayat | Imam Pasad or Alphanso variety of mangoes. These are naturally sweet and enhance the taste of the dessert.
- I have seen few recipes, where they add agar-agar or gelatine. The use of agar-agar or gelatine is to hold the shape of the mousse.
- If I am making mousse a day ahead for party or celebration or if I am making a mousse cake, then only I prefer using agar-agar.
- Agar-Agar is available in most of the grocery stores. I use Raya Brand which is 100% vegetarian and Halal too. These strands come in a pack of 10g For Rs.18/-.
- You can make mango mousse a day before and leave it in fridge for setting if you are having a party or expecting guest the next day.
- Chill the mango mousse mixture for 2-3 hours and fill it in piping bag and make round swirls in the serving glass or bowl, garnish and serve cold.

How To Make Whipping Cream At Home?
It is very easy to whip up the cream at home. Here are some of the tips learnt by me in the process of whipping the cream.
- Take two bowls where one bowl is wide enough to fit the base of another one.
- Leave these bowls in fridge along with beater blades or whisker for 2-3 hours.
- Get your ice cubes or chilled water ready.
- Take your bowls from the fridge, when you are ready to whip up the cream.
- In a big bowl, place ice cubes or chilled water and place another bowl between the ice cubes.
- Now empty the contents of whipping cream pack.
- Beat till cream starts to thicken and stiff peaks start to form (hold it’s shape and when you lift the beater the cream will cling to the beater).
- If you beat cream long then it may turn grainy.
- Transfer the whipping cream in a clean and dry moisture free jar and close the lid tightly.
- Place this in freezer till use.
- You can store whipping cream for one day in refrigerator.
The above tips are useful, when you are using whipping cream from tetra pack. I have listed tips for using powder whipping cream in the recipe notes below.

About My Friend Lubna Seemaz
How many times in life, we get a chance to come across a person who has the same name as you and also has similar hobby | passion like you. I know it is rare. But I am very fortunate enough to encounter with someone who not only shares the same name with me, but also loves cooking & baking with all her heart.
Me and Lubna Seemaz got connected through facebook, during the Holy month of Ramadan. As we both are from Bangalore, we often use to exchange messages or chat on facebook.
She is Doctor by profession and when I was in need of good gynaecologist in the city, during my pregnancy she helped me in choosing the best doctor in the city. In this course we have exchanged our telephone numbers and we use to talk occasionally. Our main topic will always be food. When my lil M arrived in this world, she was the one among those who was always there for me virtually, helping me, guiding me, listening to me, teaching me, pampering me, soothing me,….
Thank you Lubna Seemaz for being there for me always and also for sharing this wonderful recipe with me. This good friend of mine is going to celebrate her birthday this weekend and I dedicate this post of mango mousse to her. Happy Birthday dear……

Lovely dessert. I love anything with mangoes and this one is an old favourite. Infact, I had posted a mango tart version of this on my blog last summer (http://sadaf-culinaryadventures.blogspot.ca/2011/07/mango-tartlets.html). However, I had used halal gelatin (easily available in Indo-Pak grocery stores here) instead of agar agar.

Hi,this is my first time visiting your blog. I also submitted few mango recipes to ongoing events and every once in a while I click on a few of the other submissions just to see what other mango goodies out there in cyberworld. On reading your post, tears came to my eyes – such a beautiful story of you and your internet friend.I also have a question – I bought a container of the colored vermicelli some time ago because I was intrigued by it but have not used it to date. Do you not have to cook it? It is only used for garnish? I would love to know how to use it. Please let me know.ThanksMireillehttp://gourmetglobal.blogspot.com
