Hareera – Hydrating and Refreshing Drink
When you are fasting for a full day, then drinks play major role in hydrating and refreshing your body. If you fall in a part of the continent where summers are at peak now, then a chilled glass of refreshing drink is must. Our today’s drink Badam ka Harira (Hareera) is a traditional Hyderabad recipe which is mostly made during winters to keep the body warm and nourished. This drink is also made and served during iftar in many households during Ramadan.
Refreshing drinks which will fit perfectly in your iftar meal plan are,
Badam ka Harira is more like light soup in consistency, filling and nourishing. When consumed after a daylong fast, this drink will be gentle on your tummy too. There are different ways of making this badam ka harira aka almond drink and I follow this simple recipe given by my dear friend Q.
Badam ka Harira (Hareera) | Almond Drink is a traditional Hyderabadi recipe which is mostly made during winters and iftar time to keep the body hydrated and nourished. I love to drink this badam ka harira warm. But this harira also tastes good when served cold. You can make this harira 4-5 hours before serving and leave it in fridge to chill. If you want to warm this before serving, stir the harira well and pour it in a microwave safe container and microwave it for 30-40 seconds. Serve warm by pouring this into serving glasses. Alternatively, you can make this little thick and serve in bowls as almond soup. Adding chopped almonds as garnish will make this soup look festive and appetizing.Badam ka Harira
