How and when ‘Yummy Food’ is born?
As a young bride in Bangalore, I wanted to recreate the taste of my mom’s cooking. So, I started my blog, Yummy Food. Armed with a handwritten book of recipes from my family, I set out to make delicious meals in my new kitchen. Each recipe was a challenge, and I often found myself flipping through the pages multiple times.
One day while casually browsing I found websites filled with delicious recipes and enticing pictures. Slowly, I got hooked on them and started searching for recipes every day. I began trying out new recipes from different blogs and the compliments I received from my friends and family encouraged me to continue my culinary experiments.
I started my own blog called ‘Yummy Food’ after my friends and family saw my love for cooking. They encouraged me to share my culinary adventures online. Now, I continue to chronicle my cooking journey on Yummy Food, sharing my love for food and creating a space where fellow food enthusiasts can find inspiration, delicious recipes, and joy in the art of cooking.
Journey so far
It has truly been an incredible journey thus far. My blog has become more than just a platform for me; it is a reflection of my true self and my unique identity. Through my blog, I have been able to connect with wonderful individuals from across the globe, forming lasting friendships that transcend geographical boundaries. It is also serendipitous that I have found like-minded individuals who share the same interests as me right in my own neighborhood.
Participating in events and giveaways has brought me an abundance of joy and excitement. I have been fortunate enough to win numerous fabulous cookbooks, which have further enriched my culinary knowledge and skills. But my journey doesn’t stop there.
In the course of my blogging adventure, I have experienced life-changing milestones. From being a caring wife, I have embraced the wondrous role of becoming a loving mother to my precious daughter, fondly known as lil’M. This new chapter in my life has added a whole new level of happiness and fulfillment.
Meeting Friends And Celebrities’
Additionally, I have had the privilege of meeting esteemed food bloggers face-to-face, fostering genuine connections and learning from their wealth of expertise. The opportunity to review various products, cafes, and books has allowed me to share valuable insights with my readers, while also indulging in my passion for exploring the culinary world.
Meeting exceptional chefs such as Chef Ratnani, Kate Bracks (MasterChef Australia 2011), and Billie McKay (MasterChef Australia 2015) in person has been a surreal experience. Their incredible talent and culinary prowess have left a lasting impression on me, igniting my own passion for the art of cooking.
To top it all off, I have been bestowed with the honor of being featured in the esteemed ‘Bangalore Mirror,’ a testament to the impact and influence my blog has had on the local community.
As I reflect on my journey, I am humbled by the opportunities, friendships, and growth that my blog has brought into my life. Yet, I know that there is still so much more to explore, learn, and share with my readers. The road ahead is filled with endless possibilities, and I am excited to continue this incredible adventure.
Camera and Photography
I wanted to share a bit more about my food photography journey with all of you. It all began with the Sony DSC H50, a simple SLR camera that sparked my passion for capturing culinary delights. As time went on, I decided to upgrade and in 2016, I purchased the Nikon D3300. Although I didn’t have any additional lenses at that time, I was still able to capture stunning images.
Since 2019, I’ve been using my Mi Mix2 Phone to take most of the pictures on my blog. These days mobile food photography is been my new hobby because it’s so easy and convenient to capture delicious dishes.
In addition to my own journey, I have also curated a series on ‘Food Photography & Styling’. I reached out to some of the best food photographers in the blogging world, who graciously shared their views, tips, and techniques on food and video photography. Click here to read more about it!
I hope you find this information insightful and inspiring for your own photographic endeavors!
Events and Celebrations at Yummy Food
My first ever event on ‘Yummy Food’ was ‘Joy From Fasting To Feasting’, a global Ramadan Event. It provided a wonderful opportunity for me to delve deeper into the celebration of the holy month Ramadan and Eid. Connecting with fellow Muslim Bloggers from around the world allowed me to explore their cultures and customs, creating a truly enriching experience. This event, alhamdulillah, successfully ran for 10 consecutive years, allowing reader’s to cherish the joys of fasting and the festive season.

Love that you have an About section now so we can get to know you better…Your photography is amazing and has improved leaps and bounds since you started! Love how you do all the HTML yourself. Sometimes I think I should get a web designer to make mine look all nice but then when I look at it know I have satisfaction that I did it myself..may not by the best out there but it's something I did.
