About This Recipe
Making ice lollies with kids is always a delightful experience. With their little hands eager to assist, the kitchen transforms into a space of joy and creativity. Recently, me and my lil’ one decided to make three different flavors of ice lollies, using fruits that are currently in season.
We chose mangoes and lemons because they are both abundant and delicious at this time of the year. First, we created a batch of aamras ice lollies, which is essentially a pure mango indulgence. The sweetness and richness of mangoes make this a favorite among both children and adults.
Next, we made lemonade flavored ice lollies. These were wonderfully refreshing, with just the right amount of tang and sweetness to cool us down on a hot day. We squeezed fresh lemons, mixed the juice with a hint of sugar, and then froze them into perfect lollies.
Lastly, we experimented with aam panna ice lollies, a flavor that might be less known but is incredibly refreshing. Aam panna is made from green mangoes and is known for its heat-resistant properties. It’s tangy and sweet with a hint of spice that tickles the palate.
Together, we had a fantastic time making these flavors. Watching the ice lollies freeze and then enjoying them has been a great way to enjoy the warmer weather. If you’re a fan of frozen treats, I highly recommend trying these delicious flavors. Homemade ice lollies, fruit pops are not only fun to make but are also the purest form of enjoying chilled juice. So next time you’re in the mood for something sweet and refreshing, give these a try—you won’t be disappointed!

How To Make Ice Lollies With Kids?
Making ice lollies with kids is a fun and educational activity that allows them to get creative in the kitchen while also enjoying a tasty treat. Here’s a simple guide on how to make ice lollies with kids:
Ingredients:
- Fresh fruits (such as strawberries, bananas, blueberries, mangoes, kiwis, etc.)
- Fruit juice (choose their favorite flavor)
- Yogurt (optional, for creamy ice lollies)
- Honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
- Ice lolly molds | Popsicle mold
- Ice lolly sticks | Popsicle sticks
NOTE: If popsicle mold is not available, you can use disposable paper cups or tea cups. Do not forget to wash and pat them dry before use.
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ingredients: Wash and chop the fruits into small pieces. If you’re using yogurt, measure out the desired amount.
- Set Up the Workspace: Clear a space in the kitchen where kids can work comfortably. Lay out all the ingredients and equipment they’ll need, making sure everything is within reach.
- Mix the Ingredients: Let the kids choose their favorite fruits and juice flavors. They can mix and match different combinations to create their own unique ice lollies. For creamy ice lollies, they can also add yogurt for a smooth texture. If they prefer sweeter lollies, they can add a bit of honey or maple syrup.
- Fill the Molds: Once they’ve decided on their flavor combinations, help them fill each ice lolly mold with the mixture. Encourage them to layer different fruits or add fun shapes for extra excitement.
- Insert the Sticks: Place an ice lolly stick into each mold, ensuring it’s centered. If the sticks don’t stay upright, you can cover the molds with foil and make a small slit for each stick before inserting them.
- Freeze: Carefully transfer the filled molds to the freezer and let them freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely frozen. Remind the kids not to disturb the molds while they’re freezing.
- Enjoy: Once frozen, remove the molds from the freezer. To easily remove the ice lollies, briefly run warm water over the outside of the molds to loosen them. Then, gently pull out the ice lollies and let the kids enjoy their homemade creations!
Tips:
- Encourage creativity by letting the kids come up with their own flavor combinations and designs for the ice lollies.
- Use small, kid-friendly utensils and tools to make the process easier and safer for them.
- Make it a learning experience by talking to them about the ingredients and where they come from, or involve them in counting and measuring.
- Don’t forget to take photos of their creations to capture the memories and share their culinary masterpieces with friends and family!

Barak Allaah feeki for sharing your culinary ideas! I have occasionally flirted with the idea of making ice lollies at home, but thought it would be no good as I don’t own and moulds. Apparently I can use a disposable cup! Might have a go in the foreseeable future and I look forward to it, jazak Illaah khair ❤
