Few months back when I went to my aunt’s house, she made this ‘Kachalu aka Guava Salad’. I instantly loved it. This is one of the quick, easy and delicious recipe I have ever made. Peel, Cut, Sprinkle and Toss…that’s it…Isn’t it super easy to make?
Guava is one of my favorite fruit and this season it is raining guava here. So, I picked up a cart when I last visited organic fruit shop. Seeing these juicy guva’s I could not stop myself making this kachalu chaat.
What is Kachalu Chaat?
Kachalu Chaat is no cook, zero oil chaat recipe made by using ripe guavas. But here I rarely find ripe ones. So, I used fresh and organic guva’s to make this chaat. Ripe guavas are sweet in taste and to balance the sweetness, we add salt and pepper powder. This is sweet and spicy chaat recipe.

Kachalu Chaat Recipe
Kachalu Chaat or Jaam ka Chaat or Amrood ka Chaat is a very famous Hyderabad Chaat recipe. All you need is 1 minute and 4 ingredients.
Ingredients
- 3-4 medium sized fresh/ripe Guavas
- 1 tbsp. Sugar
- ½ tbsp. Pepper powder
- ¼ tbsp. Salt
Instructions
How to make Kachalu Chaat Recipe
- Wash and peel guavas. Scoop out the seeds.
- Cut into small pieces. Add this to a bowl. Sprinkle sugar, pepper powder and salt.
- Toss and serve immediately.
- Add love to make this kachalu chaat taste ‘Yummy’.

Make this ripe guava salad in snack or light meal or iftar.
Peel and cut the pieces of guava. Store them in clean and dry air tight container in fridge.
