Step 1

Marinating Paneer - Start by marinating paneer with the ingredients mentioned in the post.

Making Birista or Fried Onion - Fry finely sliced onions in ghee or oil. Fry till onions turn crisp and  nice golden brown.

Cook Paneer - Add marianted paneer to a pan and cook till soft.

Cooking Basmati - Thoroughly wash and cook basmati rice in water by adding salt, ginger-garlic paste and garam masala to water.

Step 5

Layering -  Add ghee to a thick bottom vessel and start to layer paneer and rice in layers. Cook on DUM for 30 minutes.

Step 6

Serving- Remove the lid carefully and gently fluff the rice. Serve hot with dahi ki chutney | onion raita or boondi raita.
