It’s been a crazy weekend…went to meet MIL. Though it is just three hours by bus….but travelling with a kid is not an easy ride. From MIL’s place we went to SIL’s place to attend a family function and from there back home….two days and more than 10 hours of travel by bus and car….finally exhausted….
As lil’M is growing old, now she is learning new things by observing and asking frequently. She had very good time seeing mountains, river, ponds, trees, stars, train, buses, etc., she even imitated the chai wala and samosa wala who come selling in bus stands…it is like remembering my childhood days when I use to travel by train to my grandma’s house during winters….
If it is for a day or more, if the travel is for hours or overnight….I have to take care of lil’M’s food and water. It is not easy to get certified mineral water bottles from a road side shop while travelling in rural areas in Andhra. If we get a bottle too, then need to check on the expiry date. It is very important.
Coming to food, some instant foods like maggi, biscuits, kellog’s, bread and nutella or jam is always in my bag for lil’M. Though some relatives tease me and some give me free gyan (knowledge) by saying you must make your kid eat everything….otherwise they will turn fussy eaters while growing….I know lil’M eats most of the breakfasts made at home, but being to a new place she sometimes demands of bread with jam or paratha with nutella, etc….so it is always recommendable to carry the simple things which your kid loves to nibble most of the time.
The other day at my MIL’s place, lil’M came running to me and said, mamma can I get a chocolate….I said no betiyah….then she said please….awww…sweet expression on her face, melt my heart….and I know she is hungry…as she had very light lunch due to travel….I thought of making her sandwiches…I told her…wait for two minutes…I will get you chocolate… These are easy to make sandwiches and lil’M love indulging these Nutella-Banana Sandwiches anytime of the day….these are made in no time and are good way to make lil’M eat banana and bread. There is small confession about these sandwiches….and that is….these are my favourite too…sometimes when I crave for something sweet and filling, I go for these sandwiches….most of the times these make my midnight food too…
Nutella- Banana Sandwiches
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 slices of whole Wheat Bread
- 2 tbsp. Nutella
- 1 Banana, sliced
- 1 tbsp. Butter
PREPARATION:
- Spread nutella on whole wheat bread slices and arrange banana slices.
- Cover with another bread slice and toss by adding a tbsp. of butter to non-stick pan.
- Toss until light golden brown on both sides and cut into triangles. Serve warm with love.
I make these sandwiches in breakfast or for lil’M’s snack box or as after school snack or evening snack or carry them in travel too….Does that happy face full of nutella tell you how yum are these sandwiches….???
