Peek-a-Boo
These days, I feel like I am playing peek-a-boo with my blog readers by rarely making my appearance here. Hugs and thank you for all the lovely messages, mails and comments you drop by, inquiring about me. Blogging is changing and it is changing rapidly. Keeping pace with the changing and ever growing technology is good, but sometimes it is exhausting and boring too.
I am glad to be part of some virtual events, which still pump energy into my draining blog cells. It is that time of the month, where we bunch of Muslim Food Bloggers come together to become part of a theme based Event, Muslim Food Blogger Challenge. The theme for the month is Pomegranates. Do you know? Mentioned in Holy Quran, Pomegranate is one of the six ‘Fruits of Paradise’.
What is the benefit of pomegranate?
Pomegranates are often referred to as ‘Super Fruits’ as they carry ample nutritional benefits.
Pomegranates are often recommended by nutritionists in the diet to reduce weight and control cholesterol.
These fruits are good source of vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium.

Instead of apple and pomegranate, you can use carrot, beets, cucumber, mango, watermelon etc., depending on availability and season.
If sprouted chana is not available, then you can use boiled chana too.
You can make this same salad with kabuli chana (Chickpeas).
If handy, you can use any legume like kidney beans, black-eyed peas, dry peas, etc.
I have added raw sprouted chana, you can blanch or steam or boil or cook chana and use it.
