Tuvar Dal | Red gram white Radish Tomatoes Shallots Drumstick pieces, optional thin Tamarind extract Sambar powder Red chilli powder Turmeric powder Jaggery powder Curry leaves

Pressure cook dal till soft. Mash and set aside.
Boil radish, shallots and tomato pieces in enough water until soft.

Now combine cooked vegetables, mashed dal and tamarind extract. Add water and bring this to boil by adding salt, red chili powder and turmeric powder.

Boil for 2 minutes and turn off the flame.
