{Event Announcement} Joy From Fasting To Feasting – VI

Ramadan has always been a special month to me. A lot of fond memories have been associated with Ramadan. Ramadan is ninth month of Islamic calendar. During this time Muslims round the globe fast from sunrise (Suhoor) to sunset (Iftaar). During this time Holy Quran is recited and special prayers called Taraweeh are performed during night. Ramadan also teaches Muslims how to better practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate; thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat).

During Ramadan, every part of the body must be restrained. The tongue must be restrained from backbiting and gossip. The eyes must restrain themselves from looking at unlawful things. The hand must not touch or take anything that does not belong to it. The ears must refrain from listening to idle talk or obscene words. The feet must refrain from going to sinful places. In such a way, every part of the body observes the fast. Therefore, fasting is not merely physical, but is rather the total commitment of the person’s body and soul to the spirit of the fast. Ramadan is a time to practice self-restraint; a time to cleanse the body and soul from impurities and re-focus one’s self on the worship of God.

Since I started this blog way back in 2008, I started on with Joy From Fasting To Feasting, a global Ramadan event where I call on the bloggers round the globe to come and share their recipes with readers of my blog and this event has gained much enthusiasm and publicity over the years. Every season the number of entries have been increased and love to the event has been doubled….Its sixth season of Joy From Fasting To Feasting this year and I happy to announce something new to all the readers, fan and followers of this space.

This year I thought of hosting this event in a different way by calling esteemed Muslim food bloggers round the globe to come and share their warm memories and fond Ramadan recipes, which they treasure over the period of time. Hope you have favorable time visiting here round the month. I had great time clicking this logo picture this year.
