Ribbon  Pakoda | Murukku

Ribbon Pakoda | Ribbon Murukku Recipe | Ola Pakoda is crisp, crunchy, gluten-free and addictive south Indian jar snack.


 Rice flour Urad dal flour Oats powder Red chili powder Carom seeds Hot Ghee/Butter/Oil Salt as per taste Oil for deep frying

Wavy Line

Sift Flours


Sift rice flour, urad dal flour and oats powder. 

Make Dough


Add ajwain, red chili powder, salt and hot ghee. Mix it the flour resembles bread crumbs. Slowly add water and make a stiff dough.

Divide the dough


Divide the dough into  long cylindrical shaped balls. Heat oil for deep frying.

Fill Murukku Maker


Grease with little oil, place long slits disc and fill little more than half of the murukku maker | presser with  kneaded dough.

Fill Murukku Maker


Reduce the flame and in gentle slow circular movements, press the murukku maker to form a circle in the oil.

Frying Ribbon Pakoda


On medium heat, fry till muruku starts to change color. Flip and fry till light golden on all sides.

 Murukku is ready


Carefully remove using a slotted spoon on a kitchen tissue.
