Doodh Ka Sharbat

Muharram ka Sharbat | Doodh ka Sherbet,  is an unique, aromatic, flavourful and delicious milk based drink made on the 10th day of Muharram.


– ½ lit. Milk – 50 g Almonds – 25 g Pistachio – ½ cup Sugar – ¼ tbsp. Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp. Almond flakes – pinch of Oudh | Oudd | Oodh | Agarwood powder – 1 Coal piece

Step 1:

Soak almonds in water and peel the skin. Dry almonds and pistachio on kitchen towel or tissue for an hour.

Step 2:

Coarsely ground almonds and pistachios. Set aside.

Step 3:

Bring full cream milk (whole milk) to boil. Add sugar and coarsely ground almonds and pistachio paste. Boil for 5 minutes.

Step 4:

Burn a piece of charcoal. 

Step 5:

Place burning charcoal in a thick bowl and sprinkle oudh powder. Carefully invert a bowl on it.

Step 6:

After 30 seconds flip the bowl and pour the sharbat in it.

Serve the sharbat chilled or lukewarm.
